Medical assistance rendered to IDP’s by the Indian field hospital, UN Mission, Malakal (South Sudan)

Since the crisis that began 15 December 2013 the hospital has opened its doors to not only UNMISS staff, but also to IDPs living in the POC site and to residents of the larger community. In the past year, the medical staff has performed over 500 hundred surgeries, offered ob-gyn services, helped to deliver over 70 babies, and offered a whole host of other services.
